Dr Gopi Krishna is a clinician and academician of national acclaim. He completed his bachelor’s degree (BDS) in Dentistry from Annamalai University in 1997 and went on to complete his Masters degree (MDS) in the field of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics in 2002 from the Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai. He was conferred the Best Postgraduate Student Award by the Indian Endodontic Society in 2002. He is currently working as Professor, Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics at Thai Moogambigai Dental College, Chennai.
He is the Founder - Director of the Root Canal Centre – an exclusive endodontic practice cum training centre in Chennai. The Root Canal Centre has modern equipments and treatment facilities inclusive of Six Dental operating microscopes, dental chairs, digital radiography, apex locators, rotary motors, lasers and thermoplasticized obturation systems. A fully equipped preclinical training area with airotor modules and a mini lecture hall equipped with A-V facilities to show live video feed from the microscope is also available.
Dr Gopi Krishna is the editor of three internationally acclaimed textbooks. He is the Co-Editor of Grossmans Endodontic Practice – 12th International edition (Wolters Kluwer – Lipincott), Sturdevant's Art and Science of Operative Dentistry - South Asian Edition (Elsevier) and the Editor of Preclinical Manual of Conservative Dentistry (Elsevier). He is also the Editor in Chief of the Pubmed Indexed Journal of Conservative Dentistry (www.jcd.org.in), which is the official journal of the Federation of Operative Dentistry of India. He is a prolific researcher who has won 9 best paper awards and has more than 50 pubmed indexed publications including international publications in reputed journals like Journal of Endodontics, Operative Dentistry, Australian Endodontic Journal, Oral Surg Oral Path Oral Med & Endodontics and International Journal of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr Gopi Krishna has been conferred with the Fellowship Award of Indian Society of Dental Research for his discovery of the ingenious use of Coconut water as a medium for transport of avulsed tooth and for patenting a “Dental Pulse Oximeter Sensor Holder”. He has lectured extensively in more than 150 CDE programs in India and abroad.
